Ghost of Spring began as a collaboration between two bay area-based songwriters Tim Owen and C.E. Wright. Surrounded by bluegrass instruments, a bevy of weird, inspirational people, and vivid memories of strange experiences, Ghost of Spring created their first self-titled studio record in 2014. The musical collaboration expanded into a working farm, recording studio, and a community of musicians from across the country. In 2017, GOS released their second full-length record (Unearthly Glow). While looking for different musical landscapes with which to continue to tell the stories that surrounded them, GOS crossed paths with Alabama-raised Percussionist and Drummer Justin Everette. Justin immediately elevated the GOS sound with rhythmic textures that were at once new and a perfect fit.
This collaboration brought the pandemic EP, Little Joys, and a new direction for GOS which continues with the much anticipated Take it Away where tales of weary anti-heroes are imbued with elements of the steamy Alabama coast, clarion sunrises from atop the Wasatch mountains, the ebb and flow of the Pacific Ocean, underdog stories from all kinds of classrooms, and a sound which is the culmination of three artists and a family of supporting musicians learning that life and music only get better with age.
